Course Description:

This course will explore how hybrid insulation systems can help you design more energy efficient building envelopes, while addressing air sealing and radiant heat transfer. It will explore different hybrid insulation systems that will meet the current 2021 IECC Building Code and 2023 Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation, 8th Edition for both Residential and Commercial projects. Specifically, looking at frame wall and mass wall structures in Climate Zones 2 and 3. Finally, it will outline how these hybrid insulation systems will help you meet sustainable design criteria.

Learning Objectives

Define how Hybrid Insulation Systems address energy efficiency in the building envelope.

Apply Hybrid Insulation Systems to meet the IECC and 2023 8th Edition FL Building Code for Residential Structures.

Apply Hybrid Insulation Systems to meet the IECC and 2023 8th Edition FL Building Code for Commercial Structures.

Distinguish how Hybrid Insulation Systems support sustainable design.

We also offer Distance Education Online - Hybrid Insulation Systems Using Reflective Technologies, AIA Course #FIF2020d.
