The FSK Shield™ Class A, fire-rated, aluminum facing changes the air film conefficient to low-e (emittance). In this situation, it's an insulated roof deck (see images 1 and 4). This application adds an R-4.6 to the insulation system according to the ASHRAE Handbook Tables.
